Background info:
Shin is one of the seven Leafe Knights who originally lived on Leafenia. They are guardians of Leafe, which is the basic life force of all living things. The team of Leafe Knights consists of Hayate, the wind knight; Sasame, the sound knight; Kei, the light knight; Goh, the fire knight; Mannen, the ice knight; Hajime, the water knight; and Shin, the plant knight. Though Shin is the youngest, he has an important role. He casts the spells to contain the battlefield and to seal away demon larvae. He can also use his magic to make plants grow.
The Leafe Knights sealed away Fenrir, the Princess of Disaster, long ago, but one day she escaped the seal. She sent demon larvae to Earth to suck up all the Leafe for her. However, if Fenrir succeeded, the Earth would be destroyed. Thus, the Leafe Knights set out to find the Pretear, the one with the power to defeat Fenrir. Their search led them to Himeno Awayuki, a sixteen-year-old girl whose father recently married a rich executive. In the end, the Leafe Knights and the Pretear managed to defeat Fenrir. Five years since Fenrir's defeat, all is well on Earth, and the three youngest knights are growing up.
Though Shin is older now, his personality is much the same as when he was younger. Shin is quiet and thoughtful, although he is also very cheerful and sweet. He doesn't like for people or plants to be hurt, and so whenever he sees that one of his friends is unhappy, he tries to make them feel better. He is dependent on the other Leafe Knights to take care of him-- less so now than before-- and he considers Mannen and Hajime to be his big brothers. While Shin is pretty easy to please, he also cries easily.
